Overview

We’re Xceed Molecular. And we see the world as a place where doing things a little differently can sometimes make a very big difference. Take, for example, gene expression testing. Xceed has developed the Ziplex™ system, a simple, yet scalable analytical platform with Flow-Thru Chip® technology that will revolutionize the way scientists perform experiments.

The Ziplex™ system is a multiplex test system that provides simple answers to complex questions with minimum hands-on time. It allows investigators to perform gene expression analysis more simply and cost-effectively, and with higher throughput than other platforms. The Ziplex™ system is designed to meet rigorous laboratory standards. It provides robust results reporting and provides clinical researchers high-value information for complex disease processes.

Historically, processing microarrays has been slow, complex, expensive, and time-consuming. The Ziplex™ system makes microarray processing easy, cost-effective, and reproducible, which means the quality of results will improve dramatically.

And all we did was look at things a little differently.

Looking from different points of view is an integral part of our company’s culture. When we formed our company in 2003, we realized that there was an explosion of information brought on by new technology that allowed investigators to look at disease processes in ways never before possible. We were determined to find an easier way to apply this pool of information to clinically relevant questions. But we knew we’d have to approach the problem differently than it had been in the past.

So we improved on the traditional way of testing. Instead of reagents in two-dimensional arrays, we invented the three-dimensional Flow-Thru TipChip® microarray. This approach makes it easier and faster to bring probes and targets together. More area means faster reaction times, lowered costs and accelerated results reporting. We also integrated and automated the entire array process - from labeled sample to quality controlled analytical results. All these innovations allow us to make an instrument that not only is small enough to fit on a laboratory benchtop, but also is affordable for a standard laboratory.

It’s just an example of how we look at things a little differently and make a big difference.
